So, about a month ago I woke up in the middle of the night to use the facilities. I almost fell because my left foot felt like it was incredibly bruised. Like a deep, all the way to the bone bruise. Every morning it is really painful until I get used to it, and then it becomes tolerable. Pair this with my knees, I'm freakin' disabled practically.
Then, about a week ago, I noticed I had hard little bumps on my instep. Over the past week, they've grown a bit and have become even more painful. So painful, in fact, that I made an appointment to see a podiatrist even though I don't have insurance.(I know, I know, it's incredibly stupid and irresponsible, but it's a long story and frankly none of your business). I also probably wouldn't have made the appointment if Amanda hadn't sufficiently freaked me out, too.
Well, it turns out I most likely have plantar fibromatosis. I have this really bulky padding on my left foot now and a loverly prescription for anti-inflammatories(which is a bonus because that will be helpful for my old lady knees, too! Score!). But, if in a week, it's worse or not better, I need to go back and probably get a biopsy on the bumps to make sure it is what he thinks it is, and not a tumor or something worse. Scared yet? I'm getting there. He advised me to get insurance. I'm laughing on the inside, really.
Oh, and more than likely, no matter what it is, I will need surgery to remove the nodules. Surgery that would cost thousands upon thousands of dollars. Yay
