It has been so cold here in the past few days. The wind has been fierce and the cold biting. Well, compared to the 50 and 60* days we had been having, it is. I am beyond ready for spring to sprung.
Spring soccer season started a couple of weeks ago. So far Maddie and Charlie both are undefeated teams. They both love soccer so it is a lot of fun to watch them play. I am more looking forward to baseball/softball season, though. Charlie will be playing his first season of baseball and I really hope it is something that can hold his attention. I know Maddie is looking forward to it. We found a 3 Way Ball Return and a tee with the ball attached at a thriftstore for them to practice on. I don't know who is more excited, me or them.
And of course, today is my beautiful Madeline's 8th birthday. I can't believe she is already eight. She had a slumber party on Friday, which went well. I think. Only one broken ceiling fan(one of the girls was jumping rope in the house and it yanked the lighting of the fan down. Yeah, Josh was pleased.) They were loud, which was totally expected and ate everything, which again, was totally expected. Well, these things were expected by me. Josh had never been subjected to a girlie slumber party before. I had forgotten how loud girls squeal, but it must not have bothered me too much. I was asleep by 9:30p. Oops. Josh did stay up making sure the girls weren't being too destructive..
Wednesday was our 9th wedding anniversary. Nine years. Pretty amazing. I bet a lot of people never thought we would make it this far. Next year for our tenth anniversary, I want to have a party since we didn't have one when we got married. I want to have a themed party, 50's cocktail party. I'm excited already. I plan on getting a period dress and Amanda and I are going to get our hair done in a classic fifties style. I hope that the guests will get in the spirit and dress up, too. Hint, hint. It is a year away, so plenty of time to plan, dontcha think?
I need to go start getting the house presentable. The folks will be here soon and there is dog hair everywhere, so I'll be going.

Happy Anniversary to you and Josh! Happy Birthday to Maddie.
(I can't believe that you and Josh have been married for 9 years, mostly because I can't believe that B and I have been married for almost 15!)
