I guess I'll start about my job. I am in the food service industry, which is just a fancy way of saying I am a substitute lunch lady for the school district. Oddly enough, I love it! I don't do anything at the schools I don't already do at home so it wasn't a huge stretch for me. Plus, I get to see my kids in their natural environment at the zoo, I mean school. They actually quite enjoy seeing me when I am at their school. The hairnet doesn't even phase them. Well, anymore. ;) I've gotten to know quite a few of the teachers and the kids' friends. Knowing who my children spend time with at school really helps when they come with any sort of situation or issue. Bonus, I get to embarass them in front of their peers. What mother wouldn't love that?
The kids are doing really well. Charlie is picking up on his studies which not that long ago he didn't care one whit about. His teacher and I have decided we needed to be pro-active rather than re-active towards his behavior since the latter didn't make a difference. Unfortunately, his teacher went on maternity leave a few months early(her baby is doing really well for such an early preemie, thank God!) but I am trying to keep up and help him out as well as I can. He is also in Boy Scouts and Josh will be his den leader starting in the fall. It's really nice to see them spending more time together.

Katrina has been fairly healthy since she has been put on a prescription antacid. She takes more than most adults, but she needed the high dosage. She's even putting on some weight now that her body is actually having time to digest her food. Soccer practice started last Friday and she was so ready for it. Her first game is in a couple of weeks so I'll make sure to take some photos of her. Oh, and she got a haircut. Over 12 inches of her gorgeous golden locks gone. *sigh* She's still adorable of course, I just miss her hair. She doesn't. At all. She's also very excited because this will be her first year of softball. I've been trying to teach her how to throw a ball properly, but she isn't very coordinated. Oh well.

Madeline just had her 10th birthday. I cannot believe she is that old. Seriously, how did that happen. Mind boggling. She is my super busy kid. She has more extra-curricular activities than I know what to do with. Soccer, softball, school choir, and of course her myriad of friends who can't wait to talk to her that they call before she is even home off the bus. Last week, her school choir sang the National Anthem at the women's KU basketball game. It so happened to be her birthday that day as well. Madeline said it was the best birthday ever. I hope she has many more best birthday evers in the future.

Josh and I are doing well, too. We had our 11th anniversary in February. My aunt took the kids for the weekend and Josh and I just kind of relaxed at home. My cousins and aunt took the kids to Chuck E. Cheese though. Better them, than me, I say.

I'm sure I'm forgetting something somewhere in here, but it'll be okay.
