Our first ER visit in Atchison.

Poor Charlie. The kids and Josh were playing on the merry-go-round in the backyard last night, just having a ball. Somehow, Charlie stuck his hand where it should not have been and wound up lifting his entire ring finger fingernail off the nail bed of his right hand. I've never heard him scream so painfully. It was horrible.

So we schlepped to the ER, he got some X-rays taken, had his fingernail glued back on and was told to keep it clean(isn't that just hilarious, Charlie keeping something clean! LOL) and dry. We will see how well he has done when he gets home from school today.

On a happier note, Trina and I have been gardening fools. We planted a lot of garlic out back, moved a bunch of tulip bulbs, and have mapped out where we will put a tomato plant, some cukes, and zuchinni. I am really digging(ha, get it?) this part of being a homeowner.

I hope that Charlie is doing better now. At our house, B & I are the ones with ER visits--last year we had 3 and two were mine!

About the garden--don't grow too many zucchini. 4 to 6 hills will bear enough for you most likely. Last year I grew 12 hills (6 yellow, 6 green) and grew so much that we couldn't eat it all, freeze it all, or give it all away. I'm going to grow more winter squashes this year.

Are you still crocheting?

I just hope your son isn't like his uncle.

well, how many if just 2 of us actually like zuchinni? My girls aren't nearly as adventurous as the boy. Though trini thinks brussel sprouts with butter are nummy. lol
