Last weekend we needed to get out of the house so we went garage sale-ing. I love going and looking through other people's junk and finding a treasure or two I could not possibly live without. And I did. For only $30.
Is it not gorgeous? For the three years we have lived here we have had ugly rubbermaid drawers by the front door for shoes, the kids' sports things, hats, gloves and other winter related accoutrement. I hated them just sitting there, being ugly. Mocking me every time I came home or left. Especially when I was relaxing on the couch. I'd look up and there they would be, almost grinning at me in all their ugliness. And now, I have that beautiful armoire looking at me in all its splendor. *sigh* Amazing what can make this girl happy.
The cheetah plant stand on top was another rare treasure I found. It's no longer sitting on top, but is a lovely stand for a stereo speaker in my living room.

what a find maggie!!! we love garage saling here, too! the girls enjoy it almost as much as i do...or more. em will ask me if we can go almost every time we get in the car to get groceries. :) -annab
